Boyan Ivanov

My name is Boyan Ivanov I was born on 29.01.1962 in a beautiful city in Bulgaria called Great Preslav. I now live in a city called Provadia, not far from the Black sea. I have always loved drawing. I am more interested in the applied arts, especially textile. From nearly 4 years I am working with wool, this is one of the eldest handicrafts in Bulgaria. I am creating art with a dry wool technique; I am making souvenirs, toys, jewelries and paintings. For this technique I am using special needles and already painted wool. Some of my artwork is made with a different technique where I am dry laying different sizes and shapes of pieces of wool, which then form objects, and create the feeling of light and dark in my paintings.
